Clock before pour
The face angle you walked in with is marked on tape. After the clean, the dry fit has to sit on that mark without epoxy. If it only sits with a shove, the wall is already telling on itself.

The sleeve is hardware, not a loft menu
An adjustable hosel is a nested stack: adapter, bore wall, ferrule, and a film of epoxy. On the Gulf that stack lives in chloride. We treat it like a fitting that can rust, not like a dial you click for a yard.
What usually failed
Threads first, then the wall
White crust at the adapter is salt, not range dust. If you keep torquing through crust, the sleeve starts to walk in the bore and the wall goes oval. Players feel a click at the top or a face that will not stay where they left it. Jacking a notch at that point is theatre.
Rhea pulls the head, nylon-cleans the threads, and measures the bore at three depths. Round wall: Sleeve Swap. Oval: Full Bore or a no. We do not grease a walking adapter and send it to Magnolia Grove.
Stack height on the ticket
Adapter plus ferrule height is written down so a replacement sleeve does not stealth-lengthen the club. We match the stack you brought, unless you asked in writing for a different one.
Torque after the window
The wrench number is recorded in the morning, not the afternoon of the pour. Changing a sleeve setting before that mark is how people think “the shop left it loose.”
