Not a generic fitting FAQ
If you want to know how long a “full bag session” takes, you are in the wrong clapboard. These are the questions that come up over a crusty adapter on Dauphin Street.
Can you pour on Saturday so I can play Sunday?
No. Saturday is a collar-and-inspect window that dies at noon. Structural epoxy wants a morning torque after an overnight. Sunday the door is locked. Bring a walking sleeve by Thursday if Sunday matters.
Why did my ferrule get fat after a week at the beach?
Many collars drink water. Gulf air plus chloride under the ring makes the plastic belly. When October dries it out, the ring can split or hover. That is swell, not a “bad install” from a shop in drier air. We recollar to the measured hosel OD.
The bottle says the epoxy is done in four hours.
The bottle was not written for a Dauphin afternoon above 70 percent. We read a cabinet. If the air is fat, the film stays overnight. The $40 hold is cheaper than a sleeve that walks on the first humid fairway at Magnolia Grove.
Can you just turn my sleeve two notches stronger?
Not as a product. If the bore is round and the adapter is clean, you can change a setting after morning torque — that is your sleeve, not our menu. If the wall is oval, jacking a notch hides a hardware failure. We will say so.
Someone drilled my head through in a garage. Can you save it?
Sometimes. Mal looks at chatter, remaining wall, and whether the “through-bore” is actually a ragged tip-in. Full Bore is $320 and a recut, not a promise. Some heads are scrap. We would rather say that on Dauphin than send you to a tournament with a spinning barrel.
Do you work on putter necks?
Plumber, slant, and flow-neck restems, yes, at $210 when there is meat left. Converting a plumber into a slant is usually a no. Bring the putter; photos of a tick are not enough.
Will you mail a finished head to Gulf Shores?
We will, after morning torque, if you paid the ticket and we have a hard case. We will not mail a wet pour. Overnight still happens here, not in a hot truck on I-10.
Is this a lesson?
No. See Lesson or Bore. We seat joints. Your teaching pro still owns the swing. We will not watch you hit balls to “confirm” a sleeve.
